Saudi Arabia donates 275 metric tons of dates

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomed a Saudi donation of 275 metric tons of dates valued at more than US$ 900,000 to provide meals to school children in Ethiopia.

“The Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always believed in the importance of helping people in Ethiopia as it does over the world, and the contribution of 275 metric tonnes of Saudi dates is part of this commitment to WFP and to helping schoolchildren,” said Abdulbaqi Ahmed Ajlan, the Ambassador of the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Ethiopia.

In Ethiopia, WFP assists more than 600,000 schoolchildren. WFP provides them with a daily hot meal in areas where people struggle to feed their families and where access to education is limited.
