Wydad Casablanca reaches African Champion’s league cup final showdown against Tunisian strong side Esperance. Morocco is sole bidder to host the 2013 & 2014 FIFA World Club Cup. A 1-0 aggregate victory over pre match favorite Nigerian side Enyimba, the 1992 champion Moroccan side Wydad books its cup final place making the final clash a North African affair facing three time runner-ups Tunisian giant Esperance now the hot favorite to take the coveted trophy that goes along the 1.5 million USD cash prize.
Esperance secures its cup final place with a 3-0 win over Sudan’s Al Hilal. With a 1-0 first leg away win in Omdurman, Esperance defeated Hilal in the return leg behind closed doors in to a 2-1 score line. Wydad Casablanca host’s the first leg encounter at home, while the decisive return leg is taking place a week later in Tunisia. Taking home the trophy and the cash prize, the winner also books a place in FIFA’s World Club Cup final in Japan that takes place December 8-18. In other news Morocco is the hot favorite to win the hosting bid for 2013 & 2014 FIFA World Club Cup final. Following the withdrawal of South Africa, Iran and United Arab Emirates Morocco is just on the verge of becoming the first African nation into the event.
