“Rain” blamed for Walia’s early exit from CECAFA

Unexpectedly heavy rain in Tanzania is being accused for Ethiopia’s  failure in the 35th CECAFA soccer championship. So far no one has appeared in the spot light to claim some responsibility or come up with some explanation.

With an unconvincing 1-1 draw against Sudan followed by a shocking 2-0 defeat to Kenya then the group final match; a draw with Malawi, “Walia Antelope” returned home back from the 35th CECAFA edition with their heads down. Despite big talks before the team’s departure to Tanzania everyone including head coach Sewnet Bishaw has gone into hiding. So far the federation is being accused of poor organization. The head coach is also being blamed for his tactics and line up. The players are also being criticized for not meeting expectations.   The crazy weather is being blamed the most, however. It is not surprising the Ethiopian side was kicked out of the tournament so early because they were unprepared. However knowing why and how would provide a learning experience so they can improve in time for the African world cup qualification campaign.
