Derba Cement, Horizon Tyre; Saint’s new sponsors

Nine time premier league champion Saint George has won a three year sponsorship deal. Derba Cement and Horizon Tyre are the latest beneficiaries to the nation’s giant side.
At the club’s general assembly on Saturday the newly inaugurated Derba Cement Factory, with the capacity of producing 80,000 quintals per day became a new partner for the club, signing on for five million birr a year; that is 15 million Birr for three years.  Derba Cement one of the sister companies under the owner ship of club patron Sheik Mohammed Al-Amoudi is the latest to be involved in sponsoring the club; next to long time partner MOHA Soft Drinks. The other company that pledges alliance with the cup holders is Horizon Tyre, a company owned by Jemal Ahmed, long time club supporter and member of the board of directors. Horizon’s name will be emblazoned on the club’s training kits as well in the youth and junior sides’ jersey and the 500,000 Birr sponsorship for the coming three years. Already a mega rich side, Saint George’s new sponsorship deal is expected to bring significant change in the overall face of the club both in local and international football. Nine premier league crowns and 11 knock out championship titles Saint’s appear to stay the leading Ethiopian club at least in financial clout.
