Dagnachew Demisse travels to America

Most famous for his decisive penalty shootout kick to steer Ethiopia for its first ever CECAFA championship title 20 years back, Dagnachew Demisse popularly known “Gelagle” the Savior, travelled to America.
One of Diredawa Town’s most popular football products, Dagnachew Demisse had been with once famous side Diredawa Cotton before his move to Saint George three decades back. With Saints he won everything at the club level more than five league championship titles plus three knockout Cups in addition to CECAFA championship title. A central defender both for Saints and national team he is one of most capped players in the country plus twelve years service to Saint George.  
The diminutive yet so passionate defender Dagnachew turned to coaching to his former club at all levels including stop gap coach to the senior side. Back from Netherlands after a month intensive coaching training, Dagnachew married and father of two was expected to take over as head coach to the club. However the former defender flew to America in time for European New Year festivity in Washington along with his friends, admirers and contemporaries.
