Defense Force, in need of serious rethinking

Three defeats in seven matches Ashenafi Bekele’s Defense Force appears in serious trouble. A home defeat to Hawassa heralds that it is time to think twice to better its position in the lineup.

Head coach Ashenafi complains that his squad is injury hit. Though his complaints have truth in it, he has to be prepared to have equally competent players from among the twenty five plus players squad. It may be too early to conclude that way, considering the Army side’s recent performance, supporters are in doubt of its stay in the premier league. A 4-2 defeat to Ethiopian Coffee followed by an away same score defeat to Arbaminch Town, the big surprise came on the home match against Hawassa Town  where the visitors took all three points after a 2-1 victory in Addis Ababa. Ashenafi needs to pay serious attention for the team’s performance and the players claimed to be injured should make themselves available before it is too late” Mesfin Abera former supporter suggested. “Some thing should be done before the end of the first round. How come having strikers Bedasso Hora, Oumed Oukri and Chala Driba in our side we lost number of games” Yakob Bisrat told Capital after the Monday’s home defeat to Hawassa. Last year’s surprise striker Oumed is not yet fully recovered from injury thus the side lost its front line grace while the back four was vulnerable to opposite side strikers. Defense Force FC’s currently takes 8th place on the table with six points from seven matches.
