Getaneh Kebede takes top scorers driving seat

With an incredible hat trick over city rival Ethiopian Coffee, Getaneh Kebede takes over the leading scorer spot with ten goals. Medhane Tadesse follows with nine.
Last year’s joint top scorer of the Ethiopian premier league Dedebit strike force Getaneh not only helped his side hammer the defending champion Coffee but also claimed the leading scorer’s driving seat with ten goals. Having head coach Hailemichael Tesfaye popularly known as Kokobe for his second spell with Dedebit, Getaneh appeared to rediscover his marksmanship sinking Coffee to its biggest defeat in the season by finding the back of the net in three occasion in his side’s 4-2 victory.“I am determined to score more than last season” remarked Getaneh last year’s joint top scorer with Saint George’s striker Adane Girma each with 20 goals. Despite the big margin of defeat Coffee’s front man Medhane Tadesse managed to score twice taking his goal tally to nine, one behind Getaneh. Mugher Cement goal hunter Fitsum Gebremariam is third with eight followed by Electric’s one man strike force Nigerian Philip Dawzi who has lost his magic recently. He scored only one goal in five appearances.  Since he is lone striker for the league leaders, opponent sides’ coaches appear to find ways to deny him balls coming from the mid field. Two matches in hand Getaneh Kebede is in pole position to finish the first round top scorer of the league.
