Avoiding down time in businesses

Two global consulting companies which insure security and help companies improve their technological capacity , Oracle and Boston Consulting conducted a workshop for business owners at the Sheraton Addis on Wednesday 22, 2012.

The workshop aims to help business owners to better understand how they can make their company successful and develop to a higher level through engineered hardware like database machines. These machines are noted as providing extreme performance both for database warehousing and database appliances. Oracle also provides business solutions that focus on customer relations management, business process outsourcing and enterprise management. Oracle works with companies in different fields and their customer list includes some of the recognized names around the world such as Vodafone, HBO and Sony Ericsson.

Austine Ouma who has nine years experience working with Oracle said businesses could ensure continuity by avoiding down time which is very expensive because the employees are not being as productive as they can be. People also lose trust in the brand and are not as loyal when it takes a long time for them to receive service. “Once consumers move on to the next best thing it is hard to get them back,” he added

James Wainaina from Nairobi, Kenya, five years since he joined Oracle, says ‘businesspeople must know how to turn the data they have into useful information.’

Boston Consulting company facilitates the utilization of Information Technology in all companies operating in any sector by assisting in the development, implementation, upgrading, training and support of various IT products.

Boston consulting has also developed different kinds of software and provided hardware for government enterprises such as the former Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation now Ethio Telecom, the previous Ethiopian Shipping Lines now Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Enterprise and the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority.
