EU grants 53 mln Euros

 

Ethiopia and the European Commission (EC) signed three agreements providing for 53 million Euros grant on the premises of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MoFED) on February 16, 2012. The first grant agreement of 45 million Euros would finance the second program of the Protection of Basic Services. This program is aimed at expanding and improving the quality of basic services such as primary and secondary education, health, agriculture, water, sanitation as well as rural roads. The current grant raises EU contribution to 95 million Euros as the commission has already disbursed 50 million Euros for the same program.
