Dedebit thrash Ethiopian Coffee 8-1

A warm up tournament among five Ethiopian premier leagues women’s soccer sides kicked-off with Dedebit FC and Birtukan G/Kristos dominating the opening fixtures.
Though few of the premier league sides including Saint George and Electric have not yet registered in the warm up tournament  the federation decided to roll on its fixtures among the five sides, Dedebit, Ethiopian Coffee, Defense Force, Commercial Banks and the only regional side Diredawa Town.
In the historical opening match Dedebit, spearheaded by Ethiopian women’s soccer all time leading scorer Birtukan G/ Kristos took full command in the one way traffic match against former women’s soccer giant Ethiopian Coffee. Dedebit thrashed Coffee to an emphatic 8-1 victory in a showdown where Birtukan out classed everyone in the field scoring six goals. The diminutive dribbler sliced through Coffee’s defence like a knife through hot butter to make a double hat trick a new record in the history book. On the days other match newly registered Commercial Banks settled for a surprise goalless draw with Defense Force. With Banks taking over last year Addis Ababa champion Central College women’s squad the expectation was that of Banks full domination. However Defense Force managed a strong defensive play to keep the favorites at bay.
