Dedbit and Coffee capable of title contention

Arguably with the well balanced squad in Ethiopian premier league Dedebit FC was expected to be a strong title contender at the start of the season. However due to known reasons that climaxed by head coach Gebremedin Haile’s sacking, it finished third in the table with seven wins, two draws and four defeats totaling 23 points. Spearheaded by last year joint scorer and currently leading the race Getaneh Kebede and Dawit in attack and two strong wings, it is only blending the squad missing link from Dedebit’s agenda. All the more muscled after a new goalkeeper from Comoros that worth 7000 Euro plus 1200 Dollar monthly salary, Gebre’s replacement by popularly known Kokobe is expected to make a difference in the second round. If the new head coach manages a click in the team, it has every fire power to stand as a strong title contender.
Defending champion Ethiopian Coffee is back from international duty with flying color that is a moral boosting for the second round. Coffee’s goalkeeper problem cost the team a lot whiles the midfield in love with just passing balls without purpose equally a short coming. Unnecessary passes in the midfield hindered for effective attack with Tafesse Tesfaye and club leading scorer Medhane Tadesse in front. Coffee’s strong side is its supporters that sometimes create a heavy pressure a bit too good for the players as well head Coach Wubetu Abate young yet with substances in what he is doing. Retaining the title is another pressure coming from supporters and it appears a high hill to mount for rival Saint George, surprise package Electric and Dedebit already crowding the top table.  Could Wubetu survive the season is one question waiting for real answer. Ethiopian Coffee kicks off the second round 4th in the table with 19 points.
