Clogged Artery

One of the busiest roads in the city Bole road (Africa Avenue) has been shut down since the construction of a new road began a few weeks ago. Activities in the area have become sluggish. Shop owners in the malls say that their business activity has significantly declined. On the other hand residents in the area said that for over a week they have not had  water and electrical supply during the day time.
Bole road is the main highway to the Bole Airport. Currently, travellers must bypass the area by using  the road Urael Church to Brass Hospital. The Chinese China Communications Construction Company (CRBC) is constructing the road at the cost of 60 million dollars. The road is expected to be completed within two and half years. It has three interexchange bridges in the Rwanda, Wolosefer and Olympia areas.
The main work of the 4.3Km long and 40 meters wide road from Meskel Square to Bole Ring Road Square will end in May 2013. A loan came from the  Chinese Export-Import Bank (EXIM Bank).
