KOICA backs rural dev’t in Arsi Zone

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) carried out integrated rural development projects in Bulchana village, Hethosa Woreda, Arsi Zone of Oromia state at a cost of USD 1.87 million.
Speaking at the inauguration of the projects Friday, Dr. Chung Ki Whan, President of Korea Institute for Rural Development said that KOICA has been supporting rural development projects in Bulchana village to enable the community overcome poverty and enhance the capacity of sustainable development.
“To achieve this, Korea Institute for Rural Development has been selected as implementing agency,” he added. According to him, 50 model houses with 25 kitchens and toilets have been built. Some 445 traditional houses installed windows, five farm houses equipped with bio-gas facilities and two public toilets as well as two amplifier systems had been built in the village.
