Sebeta Town books a place in next qualification phase

Sebeta Town becomes the first side to qualify for the National League’s decisive second round qualification campaign while Insurance FC and Lidetta Nyala are each just one win away from booking places.
Relegated to the National League last year, Sebeta Town appears determined to be back to the upper echelon at the end of the current season. Sebeta collected 33 points from 11 matches. They took the Southern Zone’s top table followed by Hosana town with 28 points and MetaAbo Brewery with 22. Even loosing the remaining three matches Sebeta is sure to join the toughest second round qualification group that is made up of 14 sides that finished winner and runner up of each seven groups.
Asrat Haile’s Insurance FC recovered in time to take the top spot of Central Zone group (B) after three wins in a row. Insurance collected 26 points; three points away from second place Burayu Town that won for the first time in the second round, after three defeats. A 2-1 defeat to Burayu Town over the week end, Legetafo Town is the only side to challenge the two sides having twenty points. Under head coach Kemal Ahmed Ledetta Nyala, they are considered the most balanced side in the National League, topping the Central Zone group (A) with 23 points Water Works is close behind, one point down. With four matches to go the two sides are hot favorites to join the 14 sides in two groups’ second qualification stage. The long walk to the Premier League takes another twist that brings together the top two from each group for a semi final clash with the winners claiming the key to Premier League heaven.
