Ethiopian Coffee for overhauling, supporters boycott

Five defeats in a row and struggling to stay away from relegation zone, premier league defending champions Ethiopian Coffee appears of overhauling. Club supporters took strong action boycotting the match against Electric over the weekend.
A small number of diehards attended when Ethiopian Coffee lost 1-0 to Electric and clearly showed that supporters are frustrated over the clubs current form, asking what is going on in their beloved Coffee? Coffee strikers, Tafesse Tesfaye and Medhane Tadesse missed many chances from the goal mouth, thus Electric had gone home bagging all three points they really did not deserve, but that is football. The absence of supporters is the key elements for Coffee’s defeat of course, the unsettled situation of head coach Wubetu Abate and the players’ lack of confidence for failing to deliver, are also causes for the side’s current poor form. Wubetu Abate’s situation is hard to conclude but open for any speculation, including not being focused with the team’s result.  Wubetu is said to be resigning at the end of current season despite having two seasons remaining in his contract. Under such circumstances what is to be expected of players’ and the coach is not in the clear. Such a big club sliding down to relegation zone is hard to believe just after a single season claiming the title.
“I agree in boycotting to watch the game on Saturday, so that concerned stake holders could give serious consideration to the problem before it is too late. It was to me to stay away from the stadium with Coffee playing. This is for the first time I missed Coffee’s game except I am abroad,” Getaneh Dessie remarked to Capital Sport. “It took me to decide not to go watch the game. Then I switched off my mobile phone so that not to hear the worst. However the worst happened, a defeat by Electric with so many goal chances missed.” Another Coffee supporter stated so dissatisfied.
