Electric power supply expansion projects are underway in Gambella State to provide 24 hour service, the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation said.
Gambella region marketing and sales officer with the Corporation, Sebagadis Birahane told ENA that installation of electric transformers with a capacity of 230 kilo volts is underway.
Within 20 months, the project will enable Gambella and the surrounding region to benefit from round- the -clock electric service.
Similarly, the Corporation has managed to increase the capacity of the power distribution centers to 12-mw from the previous 1-mw capacity, he said.
