Walia visit Bafana-Bafana for World cup qualification opening match

Ethiopian national side “Walia” visits South Africa at Bloemfontein for the 2014 Brazil World Cup qualification campaign opening away match. The qualification campaigns’ first home leg takes place on Saturday against visitors Central African Republic here in Addis Ababa.
At the press conference held at Wabe Shebele Hotel Head Coach Sewnet Bishaw announced his best eighteen player squad including Egyptian based striker Salhadin Said. Together with team leader EFF vice president Afework Ayele, the head coach stated he has the full squad with the only exception Behailu Assefa left home for injury. “Three weeks in camp preparation, the squad is in full readiness to face South Africa and I believe to return home with some pride,” Sewnet remarked to an ETV sport reporter. “We worked hard on different tactical options so that we could stay in control of our encounters intention,” the unpopular Swenet added.
In his final selection the head coach threw out two of Ethiopian Coffee best players Dawit Estifanos and Medhane Tadesse. Hours before the flight to South Africa, as good as “home away from home” for the nearly millions of Ethiopians living there, Sewnet announces the final list of players in the flight to South Africa. Two goalkeepers Sisay Bancha(Sidama Coffee) and yohannes Shikur (Banks), the defenders are  Abebaw Butako, Degu Debebe, Alula Girma(saints), Berhanu Bogale(Dedebit), Aynalem Hailu(Defense) and Byadgelegn  Elias of Mugher Cement. The midfield is comprised to two defensive midfielders Electric’s Asrat Mergersa and Dedebit’s Addis Hensa plus Messoud Mohammed of Coffee, Menyahel Tilahun of Dedebit, Shimeles Bekele of Saint George and Wondemeneh Zerihun of Defense. The strike force comprised five five players from five sides, Oumed Oukri of Defense, Fitsum G/Mariam of Mugher, Dawit Fekadu of Dedebit,tafesse Tesfaye of Coffee and Adane Girma of saint George. Two goals hero in the famous Ethiopian home draw against Nigeria, Salhadin  Said joined the squad at the final days thus Medhanne Tadesse of Coffee with 14 goals in his name sacrificed. Back from South Africa on Tuesday the squad resumes preparation for the group second match on Saturday against visitors Central Africa.
