Best player and best goalie of the season award on hold

Three players each from champions Saint George and runner-up Dedebit, Ethiopian football federation announces a 17 candidates list to premier league best player of the season award. Six goalkeepers including Ugandan international Robert Odunkara runs for best goalie of the season. This time the public might be invited to vote through SMS.
Ugandan Izak Isenede , team skipper Degu Debebe and free kick wizard Abebaw Butako are nominees from champions Saint George with the major absence Adane Girma last season’s joint top scorer and best player of  the year. Although Adane retains top scorer accolade with 23 goals he is not in the list and many in question of his   absence.
Midfielders Behailu Assefa (Tusa), attacking midfielder Menyahel Teshome and defending midfielder Addis Hensa are nominees from runner up Dedebit still the major absence Getaneh Kebed last year joint top scorer  and this season’s runner-up top scorer with 20 goals. Nigerian striker Philip Dawzi and team skipper Asrat Megersa are nominees from the season’s surprise package bronze medalist Electric  while shocking tenth place Ethiopian Coffee get two players in the list midfielder Mesoud Mohammed and Samuel Taye.
Each one player from seven sides Temesgen G/Tsadik of Hawassa Town, Fitsum Tefera of Commercial Banks, Sidama Coffee’s central defender Biadgelgn Elias, Mugher’s top scorer Fitsum G/Mariam, G/Michael Yakob from Arbaminch Town, Michael Gara of Harar Brewery and Tilahun Wolde from Defense are among nominees running for the award.
For best goalie of the season six players are in the list including relegated Air Force’s Yohannes Bezabeh who conceded the highest number of goals in the season. Favorite to win the award Sidama Coffee’s Sisay Bancha, in strong contention Banks’ Yohannes Shekur, Saint’s Robert Odunkara, Hawassa Town’s Yakob Fissha and Haimanot Adamu of Diredawa Town are nominees for the award.
