Rare suspense film opens

Good suspense films made in Ethiopia are hard to come by; most cinemas seem to be filled with romances and comedies or the combination of both. Heaven of Cush Film Production premiers a new Suspenseful and dramatic film entitled “Yecush Meder” today, Sunday September 9th. The film promises to have audiences at the edge of their seat. It will be showing in all private cinemas including those outside of Addis Ababa.

“Yecush Meder” which is written by Lelisa Alemayhu and directed by Araya Kiros tells a story of a group of people who have knowledge about a massive wealth source in the country. After many years they go back to the country and each of them try to get their hands on the wealth which initiates conflict.
The film’s production company stated that the film also delves into issues such as what Ethiopian identity means and addresses moral questions which many Ethiopians ask all the time. The film explores all the sacrifices that are made for love, money and the journey to success. 
The film features well-known actors such as Lelisa Alemayhu, Helina Getachew and Solomon Muhe and many more. The film cost over 550,000 birr to make and took around two years to complete.
The film premiered with professional film makers and well-known actors in attendance.
