Investors’ participation in tourism development increasing
Investment projects on tourism development at a cost of over 5.2 billion birr have created more than 25,800 jobs in Amhara State in 2004 EC, the State Culture, Tourism and Parks bureaus said. Bureau Public relations head Haileyesus Filate said that the ever increasing tourist flow to the region attracted investors to the sector. He said more than 500 investors have been engaged in the tourism sector in this Ethiopian budget year. Upon the completion of the construction of lodges and tourist facilities and services by the guide and tour operators, the projects would create dozens of jobs, he said. He said expanding expansion of infrastructures, dependable peace, and promotional works are the contributing factor the high influx of tourists to the state.
