“Built for Africa”

Samsung Week was officially kicked off on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Sheraton Addis. The event had Samsung representatives from different African countries as well as a delegation from Korea in attendance.
During the week, Samsung partners exchanged views on topics touching on technology applications and innovation. Samsung week also acted as a platform for Samsung electronics to showcase its “Built for Africa” product line and integrated solutions for corporate and government organizations. 
“Our hosting of the Samsung week for the second year in a row Ethiopia is a clear indication of our commitment. Samsung electronics is proud to continue engaging with the people of Ethiopia through such a platform. This week will enable us to engage with all our business partners through product displays, solution workshops social investment,” said Jhong Oh Lee, representative of the Korean delegation.
The event introduced the latest Samsung products on the market. These products included the new 75 inch LED Smart TV, which is possibly the closest a TV has ever come to a PC. It offers high-tech features that have previously not been available, including a built in High Definition camera, a microphone set plus face and speech recognition software.
The company also introduced a two-year Warranty Support covering all its products, making Samsung East Africa the first company to unveil the extended warranty guarantee.
“Samsung Electronics globally celebrates with you a milestone this year. This milestone relates to Samsung Electronics entry into the coveted inter-brand Best Global Brands list where we climbed the ranks in the global brand report, ranking 9th among the top 10 brands for the first time in history,” stated Jhong Oh Lee.
Samsung Week also included a dealer’s day, which was aimed at entertaining local dealers, while acquainting them with Samsung’s wide range of products and services. It also had a consumer’s day, where it had special offers on Samsung’s products.
