Ethiopia opens Honorary Consulate Office in Nagoya, Japan


Ethiopia has opened an Honorary Consulate Office in Nagoya, Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. African Affairs Director with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shinichi Asazuma on the occasion said the opening of the Office will further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. He expressed hope that the Tokyo International Conference for African Development, to be held in Ethiopia, will be successful. The director commended the role Ethiopia has been playing to ensure lasting peace in the Horn of Africa. Ethiopian Ambassador to Japan, Markos Tekle, on his part said Japan is one of the strongest allies of Ethiopia. He said Japan’s support, particularly in the ongoing efforts to strengthen small-scale industries and knowledge transfer has significant contribution towards the development of Ethiopia, according to a statement issued by the Ministry.
