Ethiopia in friendly international today with Niger

Days after they were given lucrative money prize the “Walias” take on Niger in an international friendly match today at the Addis Ababa stadium. This is the first of the three friendly international fixtures before the 29th South African Nations cup final kickoff on 18th January.
It has passed three weeks since the Ethiopian National side, under head coach Sewnet Bishaw and assistant Seyoum Kebede, was called to boot camp for final preparations, this time at the Intercontinental Hotel, for the Walias first encounter since qualification to the Cup final. The nations football worshippers are in high expectation to watch the national side for the first time after that historic Sunday where Ethiopia defeat visiting side Sudan to 2-0 score line to be back to the continent’s biggest sport event after exactly thirty one years. “I am more to another celebration than the match alas the result of today’s match” Sentayehu Mamo told Capital boasting the try color t-shirt he bought for today. “I and my friends are looking for the carbon copy of that wild celebration” Sentayehu Added.
Encountering Niger also a humble side in his first international friendly would surely benefit Sewnet who has not yet started building up the final squad that travels South Africa. Many believe Sewnet now has four strikers for two places: Adane Girma, Salhadin Said, Getaneh Kebede and likely addition South African based Fikru Tefera. About ten players are slated for the midfield four places and another eight for the back four places and four goal keepers meaning a lot of work for the coaching staffs’ final selection. Sewnet need to make official hs 23men squad before the 1st of January meaninig out of his current 31 players including Fikru and Salhadin he is to axe eight. That drama begins today then to be followed by a second friendly international home match against Togo before travelling to Doha-Qatar to play against Tunisia.
