The Ethiopian National Football team players will be awarded two million birr each if they could make their title dream come true in South Africa. According to the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF), the ongoing Nations Cup final surprise package Waliya- Antelopes have shown what potential they do have, even to claim the title for the first time since the third cup final, the only time Ethiopia won the championship title. Although CAF announced the USD 1.4 Million bonus if they win the title, it also said it has budgeted seven million birr to distribute among players if they book a place in the knockout stages. An 11.5 million birr package is also ready for distribution to the players if they reach the semi-finals. The former Nigerian international and TV pundit Samson SiaSia stated that it was a football playing team that displayed real skills in the tournament. Waliyas could secure one million birr for each player if they secure a Cup final place and if they win the trophy, each player will pocket two million birr each. The last time Ethiopia won the Africa Cup of Nations title was in 1962, which was the 3rd edition of the games. The last time Ethiopia took part in the tournament was in the 13th Africa Cup of Nations which took place in Libya 31 years ago.
