Nation secures 57mln Birr revenue from export of leather products

More than 57 million birr in revenue was secured from the export of leather and leather products over the past six months, the Leather Industry Development Institute said. Institute Corporate Communication Director Berhanu Serjebo said that the set target was to obtain more than 109.2 million birr during the reported period. Berhanu said the stated sum was secured mainly from the export of value added products such as finished leather, footwear, leather gloves, clothes and articles. According to him, the government is working hard to make use of the country’s leather resources through raising awareness among the public.
