The 6th All African Leather Fair (ALLF) was highlighted with a fabulous fashion show held at the Millennium Hall on February 21. This fashion show enabled investors, buyers, sellers and visitors from over 43 countries to observe what Ethiopia can offer as value added goods, apart from the semi processed leather.
Ethiopia started exporting finished products such as footwear, gloves, wallet, purse, bag, etc. only recently and the products showcased at the fashion show by two Ethiopian designers indicated how the country’s leather industry is rapidly growing, says Befekadu Bekele, Project Manager of the fashion show.
Solomon Getu, Board Chairman of the Ethiopian Leather Industries Association (ELIA), also appreciated the designers and noted the Ethiopian leather industry is showing a fascinating growth and development.
As part of the event, organized by Henof Promotion and Advertising Company, in collaboration with the organizers of the 6th AALF, the parade was followed by an entertaining dance show presented by the group ‘Hahu’ and depicting the Ethiopian’s life from agricultural practices to patriotism.
The 6th All African Leather Fair opened last Wednesday 20th and ended on Friday 22nd February.
