It has been exactly two years since the massive earthquake/tsunami hit Japan, causing untold devastation. Besides those who suffered direct consequences of the catastrophe, others across the world were also made to witness/share/suffer the disaster, albeit indirectly, (as members of the human family) via modern information/communication technology. The number one lesson learned from the happenstance was (we would like to believe): there is no real protection against the wrath of Mother Nature.

The second, which is a corollary to the above, is: some of the activities we are currently engaged in, are way beyond our capacity to control and manage them, particularly in emergency situations. In this category we can easily put, for example, ‘God’s Fire’ or in common lingua, nuclear power (in whatever its forms.) Tampering with ‘God’s Fire’ will always have drastic consequences that are neither forgiving, nor short lasting. Sadly enough, the Japanese had more than their share of experiences when it comes to ‘God’s Fire’, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and now Fukushima!
For the average human being the above observations/lessons are too obvious to trigger casual conversations, let alone serious deliberations. But to those who live in the world of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and under the influence, nuclear that is, the above lessons are still inconceivable, even after experiencing three major nuclear power accidents in the last four decades, ‘Three Miles Island’ (USA), ‘Chernobyl’ (USSR/Ukraine) and now Fukushima. These human instruments of the capitally concocted world system, are literally incapable of addressing core issues that involve ‘humans-cum-nature’ in ways that are demonstrably practical and decidedly pro-life. To these truncated souls the alpha and omega of existence is centered on the accumulation logic! According to those sickos of our world, it doesn’t matter if the whole of the human race is wiped out from the face of the earth so long as their selfish and temporal objectives are fulfilled. As observed in the past as well as the present (Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power accident) such individuals don’t seem to learn the above simple lessons. See Leahy’s article on page 54.
The global economic system that underlies essentially all other activities of collective social existence is not capable of learning from Fukushima or any other natural and man-made catastrophes, since it lacks empathy at its core. The main propagators of the system are human psychopaths impostering as leaders; business, politics, etc. It is instructive to look back and reflect on what actually happened since the 15th century, the time when the system began to take its non-human shape in earnest. Slavery, the callous contamination of the biosphere, etc are all consequences derived from the blind/psychotic worshipping of accumulation. For example, the evil priests or the human psychopaths of the system still argue we can safely contain/control the high level radioactive wastes (byproduct of nuclear activities) for hundreds of thousands of years, while on the ground, their incapacity to dispose (outside of the human environment, since you cannot get rid of radiation) the existing radioactive waste that still lie scattered all over makes a mockery of their useless and greedy proposals! See Grossman’s article next column.
If truth be told, the system has become chronically malignant and need to be cut off before it infects all the remaining life forms on earth. In our case it might well be too late to save Homo sapiens, but others, we believe, should be given a fighting chance! Not surprisingly, the prevailing institutions that anchor the existing system have lost, for the most part, their capacity to differentiate between good and bad/right or wrong, (state bureaucracies, business enterprises, learning institutions, religious denominations, etc.) Since ultimate conscience resides only in the beast (human mass), we believe, this is where serious discussion must take place, especially when it comes to matters of life and death. That is why we repeatedly say; the beast must urgently and actively engage in the process of reconstructing a new world system by meticulously/systematically deconstructing the existing anti-life scheme, while taking into serious consideration the reality of its own chronic and blinding indoctrination (compliment of existing system.) Naturally, the first task of the global populous is to liberate itself from this malady, before anything positive can come about! See Dear’s and Naidoo’s article on page 55.
Here is a realistic and honest assessment of modern man’s ailment, from one who saw it coming. “The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does. They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted.” Aldous Huxley – Brave New World. Good Day!
