Addis International Bank (ADIB) awarded Seven Seas Technologies (SST), a Data Center and Network System company, a contract to modernize its facilities.
Addis International Bank, which is the first bank to launch mobile banking services in the country, handed the contract to SST to develop the design, installation and commissioning of an ultra-modern data and audit center. It was stated that the bank will facilitate the installation and upgrading of the network. The solutions Seven Seas Technologies will be providing are set to lay the foundation for the integration of the core ICT system to enable the bank to communicate and operate with improved effectiveness and efficiency. It was also stated that improving the network capabilities and Data Centre will enable delivery of excellent services to customers of the bank.
Seven Seas Technologies will be working in conjunction with another company called Net & Com to deliver the solutions to the bank.
“Partnerships are indeed essential on all fronts and we will be handling all matters on the ground to ensure smooth implementation as well as working with the best Data Centre solutions providers and Network integrators in the industry with global accreditation. The solutions designed for Addis International Bank cost effectively meets its requirements while improving systems availability in a secure environment,” stated Mesfin Bekele, Managing Director of Net & Com.
“Seven Seas Technologies, in partnership with Net & Com, has previously deployed transformational solutions to different banks such as the Bank of Abyssinia, United and Dashen Banks. It is thus very conversant with the Ethiopian market and would employ similarly high standards to deliver on this project,” said Pius Busera, Intelligent Infrastructure Managing Director of Seven Seas Technologies.
Once this initiative is completed, it will provide ADIB with a centralized IT infrastructure for online, real-time electronic banking solutions in conformity with National Banking Standards in Ethiopia.
Addis International Bank officially launched operations in June 2011 and currently has 5,000 shareholders, which include 647 cooperatives and 157 local community help associations.
