CETU is part of the struggle of the Ethiopian people


The Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions (CETU) is part and parcel of the struggle of the Ethiopian people for peace, development and freedom from oppressive regimes, Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has said.
Speaking at the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of CETU, PM Hailemariam said the ethical standard, motivation and competitiveness of workers is vital to sustaining the ongoing speedy national economic development.
The government, employers and employees need to work collaboratively so as to cope up with today’s globalized world, he said, and stressed the need to improve productivity, respect the rights of workers and develop the culture of hard work.
ILO representative for Africa, George Wakatu on his part commended national endeavors to actively engage workers in the ongoing fight against poverty.
