More than 3,000 runners participated in the 2013 EVERY ONE Campaign Race held at Hawassa, the Capital City of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s regional state. The Campaign was organized to enhance awareness and reduce maternal mortality and children death.
Hawassa, a very busy city in the Southern part of the country, last week was packed with people who came from around the world to participate on the 4th EVERY ONE campaign held on Sunday May 12, with the aim of raising awareness on maternal mortality and children death.
A day prior to the race, a concert as community outreach program was organized as part of the campaign to enhance awareness about maternal and children mortality.  Artists who act on Sew Le Sew, an Amharic series drama, participated in the concert and extended their gratitude to the public’s appreciation.
Great Run, in close collaboration with EVERY ONE, Save the Children, and other stakeholders, organized the campaign which is left with only two editions. The campaign, which had three types of competitions including half marathon, 7km and children’s race, took place on Sunday morning.  More than 3,000 people have participated. The 5th edition of EVERY ONE Campaign will take place on May 4, 2014.
