Water Sport defeats Defense, its first win of the season

After a shocking 1-0 victory over Defense Force on Tuesday, Water Sport managed to skip the history chapter as the first ever Ethiopian premier league side to go down without a win throughout the season. On the verge of relegation Adama Town sacked its coach just four matches before the end of the season.
Even though Defense Forces managed to win its last six consecutive matches,  the day was for Water Sport and at the 80th minute Asrat Shegere converted the winning goal from the penalty spot winning their first ever game after joining the premier league this season. “We played good football throughout the season and today our performance was not even as good as the previous matches. I am not sure we can survive, but I assure you we will be back to the premier league after a single season,” head coach Berhane Gebreegziabher told reporters after his first victory. Water Sport still remains at the bottom of the table with just eight points. After three consecutive draws thanks to a single winning goal from the penalty spot from Mesoud Mohammed, Ethiopian Coffee collected its first full three points after defeating Muger Cement. Ethiopian Coffee is second in the table eight points away from the league leaders Dedebit.
