Dell announced the launching of its Pro Support service in Ethiopia on Wednesday.

The support service enable customers access to its technical support capabilities, Dell spare parts network and Dell certified engineers in Ethiopia.
“Our customers in Ethiopia will now get all the benefits of Dell’s Pro Support services in the exact manner as customers in Europe and the US. Dell services will provide export support for our customers’ environments, with various response options for spare parts delivery and on-site engineering resources. The launch includes protection and advisory options for our commercial customers ensuring maximum benefit from their investment in Dell solutions,” said Stewart van Graan, General Manager South and Central Africa.
The company launched the same service product recently in Botswana and another eleven countries in the last 9 months.
At a press conference held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dell representatives announced that Dell has completed a significant transformation in Ethiopia through the advancement of support and technical expertise with round-the-clock telephone diagnosis, local Dell-owned parts inventory and onsite service by Dell’s certified service partners.
Some of the factors that have influenced the company to reach a number of African countries include political stability and good ‘doing business’ rankings along with recommendations from the company’s registered local distributors. The platform already launched in South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya and Algeria is expected to be rolled into 15 countries in Africa by next year.
In the past seven year’s Dell has invested over USD 16 million in the acquisitions of over 20 companies in its plan to become an end-to-end enterprise solution.
