Artists from Asni Art Village and Netsa Art Village are currently holding a combined exhibition that officially opened Thursday last week. The exhibition participants include famous names such as Konjit Seyoum, Daniel Alemayehu, Solomon Tsegaye, Tamrat Gezahen and Tesfahun Kibru.

The exhibition at Asni Gallery has excited many as it features brand new works by the artists entitled “Abro” meaning “together”.  The exhibition has already been visited by many and received a lot of positive feedback. Konjit Seyoum, who is the owner of Asni Gallery, is even more familiar to people through her installation art. Her new work has been appreciated by many.
Another well-known artist, Daniel Alemayehu, has also come up with an impressive display. Daniel  is renowned for his unique water colour works on paper. He has previously exhibited his work at the National theatre art gallery, Goethe institute and the American Embassy, among others. The artist has been experimenting with different materials like clay paint.
Solomon Tsegaye, who studied architecture and urban design in college, is the other participant in Abro – he is another whose work has not disappointed art lovers. His co-exhibitors, Tamrat Gezahegn and Tesfahun Kibru, also presented intriguing pieces.
Tamrat has been able to show his work in plenty of venues in and out of Ethiopia. Back in 2007, he was part of a project called “Art Invisible” in Madrid, Spain. This particular artist likes to mix his drawings and paintings with texts and diaries.
Last, but not least, Tesfahun Kibru is another outstanding artist whose work is featured at Asni Gallery. It is not the first time this artist has  shown his work at Asni  He has had two different solo exhibitions in the same venue. Back in 2007, Tesfahun was one of the participants in  an exhibition entitled “Continuity and Change” in Florida. This artist’s specialty is sculpting.
Even though reading about the exhibition is good, what will do justice for these artists’ work is actually going to Asni Gallery and seeing for yourself their ability to create.
“Abro” will stay open until 10th August 2013.
