Ethiopia celebrated ‘National Laughter Day’ on October 31, 2013.

Ethiopians from different walks of life and of varying ages met to just laugh and have fun. It was a day of celebration whereby people forgot their problems and worries for a few hours and had a good time.
Belachew Girma, who won the Impossibility Challenger Games held in Munich, Germany, in 2002 and broke the Guinness World record by laughing non-stop for three hours and five minutes, initiated the event.
Ethiopia is one of the few countries in the world that celebrates the ‘National Laughter Day’ and the rationale behind it is to develop a positive outlook amongst its citizens
