The singer and songwriter who has an Ethiopian mother and an Italian father held a concert at the Italian Cultural Institute on Saturday December 14th. It is not the first time the artist has performed in her native country. Back in 2009, Saba, along with her producer and co-author Fabio Barovero visited Addis Ababa and met with local musicians.
They held a recording session with; Endale Abate, Belay Alemayehu andBinyamBerhanu along with other artists that played Ethiopian traditional musical instruments such as the Krar, Washint and Masinko. The collaboration was included in her second album entitled “Biyo” which was released in March 2010.
Although mostly known for her music, the artist also has a flare for acting. In the 1990’s Saba scored a part in the then famous Italian television show called La Squadra. She played a policewoman of Somali-Italian heritage.
Between 2008 and 2009 Saba performed in at least one hundred concerts with her international band
