Sheik Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, held talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.

During the meeting that was held at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi and attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the two talked about the best ways to enhance bilateral relations between the UAE and Ethiopia, as well as the situation in the Horn of Africa.
The talks also touched upon a number of issues related to expanding the horizons of cooperation between the two countries especially in investing in industry, agriculture and tourism.
Sheik Mohammad stressed the UAE’s keenness on building bridges of cooperation with all friendly countries.
He also highlighted that the country seeks to promote all forms of cooperation with many countries, for the benefit of the UAE people and the people of all friendly countries.
For his part, Hailemariam praised the cultural, economic and social development witnessed in the UAE under what he called, wise leadership, and expressed his government’s willingness to attract UAE investments in Ethiopia, especially in the private sector.
He also mentioned the existence of several investors and companies from the UAE.
The meeting was attended by Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Cooperation, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, a number of other ministers and senior officials.
