Dedebit, ready for a home surprise with visitors Sefaxien today

Lack of fitness for the match is clearly showing in the squad but defending Ethiopian Premier League champion Dedebit FC entertains North African giant CS Sfaxien today in the African Champions league first round, first leg, home qualification showdown. Head coach Tsegaye Desta called football fans to rally behind his squad as they are ready to take the visitors by sheer surprise.
Back from the 2-0, preliminary round, away defeat to its Zanzibar counterpart they still have a place in the qualification first round after 3-2 aggregate score line.Dedebit’s first league match following a two monthsuspension against Commercial Bank, ended in a lackluster goal less draw.
National team striker Dawit Fekadu and newly discovered attacker Shimeket seemed like that havelost their sharpness on targets. The score was disappointingand many feel the team gave a sub par performance. Many are now loosing faith in coach Negussie’sability to pull off the upset.
The team has earned 12 points in four matches with four matches in hand. Dedebit is currently seventh on the table and 18 points behind league leader Saint George, so defending the league title is out of the question.
Of course a home match with a stadium full supporters behind them, they are a force to reckon with but taking into consideration that the visitors are Confederation Cup holders, Tunisian reigning champion as well as  among Africa’s few highly professional clubs, Dedebit needsall the help it can get.
Sefaxien previously visited  Addis Ababa last year when they thrashed  Saint George 3-1 in the Champions’ League final qualification, first round home leg.
