LG Group in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) laid the foundation for the LG Hope TVET College on Wednesday February 26th.  The College that is to be built in the outskirts of Addis Ababa around the area commonly known as Summit, will establish a firm foundation for sharing LG’s core competency and knowledge in information technology and it will give classes on, IT, electronics and TV/Cell phone repairs.
The electronics company also inaugurated a Model Farm project in LG Hope Village in Sendafa area, Oromia Regional State. The major objective of the Hope Village is to establish self-sustained farm villages that are capable of producing for the market. The model farm project will raise farmers’ incomes and productivity by providing practical training on agricultural methods and educating leadership with an innovative mind set through self-organized village committees, according to a company spokesperson.
Besides the school and the Hope Village, LG currently runs three other projects in Ethiopia; LG Hope Descendants, LG Hope Elementary Sponsorship Project and the Vaccine Project.
