Energy prosperity


The Eastern African Power Pool (EAPP) has prepared an energy master plan that plays an important role in expanding the electric power connectivity of East Africa, the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy said.

At the conclusion of a three-day steering committee meeting for the Extraordinary Council of Ministers of  Common Market for Eastern Africa on Friday April 25, Alemayehu Tegenu, Water, Irrigation and Energy Minister said the master plan will help East African countries create a comfortable situation for the common market. The master plan will ensure the country’s long term objective to connect neighboring countries in electric power, the minister said. According to Alemayehu, Ethiopia will fight  energy poverty in East Africa through its enormous sources of energy.
