Last weekend was filled with fun at the two day festival Taste of Addis. Similarly, this weekend has not disappointed with another outdoor festival that entertained many with well known local and international musicians.
The Tizita Festival which is sponsored by Harar Brewery and that aims to celebrate music, art, culture, unity and heritage, lined up an exciting list of entertainers such as the “King of Tizita” Mahmoud Ahmed, Magic System, Bahta G/Hiwot, Meta and the Cornerstones, Alemayehu Eshete and Ras Goody Brown, among others.
Organized by Mingle promotions and Events, a company that is famous for organizing the much anticipated yearly event Acacia Jazz & world music festival, in collaboration with Mickey Dread Events, not only will the Tizita Festival have live music performances, but it will also have food, drinks and games available for kids and adults.
The organizers stated that the festival celebrates the diversity and unity of people from all walks of life and plans a series of events that will bring people together to share and understand the benefit of music and culture. They also say that, the festival not only will address the need to establish a forum for the expression of international Music, Culture and Dance, but also put Ethiopia in the front of the international music scene.
According to a press release sent out by the organizers, they stated that they are planning to coordinate a series of mega events throughout the year that would attract the finest and best performers from all over the world to perform alongside local artists here in Ethiopia.
If you are also in the mood for a more quiet entertainment this Sunday, it just so happens that the Greek Film Festival will be screening its last film for this year’s festival at the Greek Community School. The festival organized by the Greek Embassy and the Greek community of Addis Ababa will screen the film entitled ‘The mountain in front’ directed by Vasilis Douros to day Sunday May 4th at 4:30 pm, go check it out.
