It was fun, it was endearing, it was sad and it was not to be missed; this was some of the audience response after the Munit and Jörg concert on Tuesday June 17th at the Italian Cultural Institute .
Munit and Jörg have been creating music for a while; the two say they had a common bond because they had the same taste in music and a similar concept of what they wanted to produce.
Their music, described as energized blend of Ethio-Acoustic Soul, has won the hearts if many in Ethiopia. Everybody looked forward to their tunes at music festivals, cultural centers in Addis and big concerts.
Unfortunately for the many fans, the sad news came at their recent concert that Jörg will be leaving for his country Germany; and hence that was their last concert.
Their last concert at the Italian Cultural Institute was met with a full house of audiences from very small children to the old. The artists played their loved tunes such as, trans-African highway, Noro and many more where the audiences joined in the fun and sang with them.
Munit, like always brought out her free fun loving spirit and went off stage to play with the young audiences who were very delighted. Jörg, who is not a man of many words, at least to the audiences, set the stage on fire with his ways of playing the guitar.
The show ended with the two and everybody else singing Bob Marley’s Song Redemption. Many were very hopeful to see Munit and Jörg perform together again.
