Somaliland, Ethiopia: The mission of the technical committees


Somaliland Minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation Mohamed Bihi Yonis briefing the press on the recently concluded two day meeting between Ethiopia and Somaliland technical committees in Dire Dawa said, “The two day meeting held this week in Dire Dawa between officials of the two nations was mainly centered on security, trade, investment, diplomacy and the movement of people between the two countries.
The technical committees representing both countries during the two day meeting in Dire Dawa aimed to strategize and to reach consensus on a number of proposed partnerships so as to explore and establish parameters for a multi-sectored partnership between the two brotherly nations before the official signing of the final agreement by cabinet ministers from both countries which will take place in Addis Abba,” Bihi said.
Bihi went on to say, “the two day talks in Dire Dawa were meant to lay the future foundations for  wider commitments on security and defense, trade and investment development between the two countries and once consensus is reached, a presidential delegation consisting of the ministers of foreign affairs, finance, national planning, commerce, interior and defense will go to Addis Abba to sign the Agreement.
“Somaliland and Ethiopia share cordial relations of which we are determined to not only sustain but enhance as well and Somaliland is grateful for the support it was getting from Ethiopia and the  long bilateral relationship between our two Horn of African states” he added
