Good Governance Institute to start postgraduate degree programs


The East Africa Development and Good Governance Institute will begin offering postgraduate degree programs starting on September 2015, the Ethiopian Civil Service University (ECSU) said.
ECSU President, Dr. Hailemichael Abera, said that the institute was opened to further increase Ethiopia’s vital role in ensuring peace and development in the Eastern Africa region, and to reinforce its guiding principle of promoting development cooperation with its neighbors.
According to Hailemichael, ECSU will provide masters program training in Diplomacy and International Relations for students from Djibouti, Somaliland, Punt Land, Somalia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Sudan.
He added that the university is currently offering courses for a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Urban Management, Public Finance Development and Public Administration disciplines for sixty five South Sudanese, forty three Somalis, and five Punt Land students.
Dr. Hailemichael said, the newly opened institute will train students from Eastern Africa and other neighboring countries.
Established in 1995, the Ethiopia Civil Service University (ECSU) has so far graduated 25,000 students in various filed of studies.
