The 25th edition of Crans Montana Forum was held in Dakhal, Morocco this week. The forum that Opened on Friday March 13th and came to a close yesterday brought together well known figures from 36 African, 30 Asian, 31 European and 15 countries from the Americas.
The event attracted 800 participants including nearly 600 from foreign countries and among whom more than a hundred heads of state, heads of government, ministers, parliamentary speakers and parliamentarians.
Among key figures present include Macedonian President, Gjorge Ivanov, Prime ministers Mohamed Said Fofana of Guinea, Prime Minister Skerritle Roosevelt of Dominica, UN Under Secretary General, Philippe Douste Blazy as well as the former president of Spain, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
Held under the theme South-South cooperation, the event was an opportunity for senior representatives from Africa and the rest of the world to share projects and visions for the future.
Discussions focused on several points including governance and natural resource management, access to new technologies, the role of African women in public and private affairs, gender equality and education system strengthening are issues that were discussed during this session.
The Forum gathered top level decision makers from governments, NGOs and the private sector from around the world, aiming to address the challenges of African integration, Africa’s role on the international stage, the new South-South synergies of common development, the issues of natural resources and growth.
The Crans Montana Forum is an international organization which brings together influential policy and business representatives from around the world to promote and facilitate international cooperation and global growth.
