Tekleberhan Ambaye Construction Plc. (TACON) was requested by the Rwandan government to participate in housing and road projects.
TACON senior managers went on an exploratory visit to Rwanda to study whether the offer is feasible. TACON, which received an international construction award from Madrid-based Global Trade Leaders Club, constructed the terminal and security facilities at Berbera Port.
Seifu Ambaye, Chief Executive Officer of TACON, told the press on May 21 that the Rwandan government had shown interest for TACON. “Rwanda officials discussed with us the possibilities and they told us they have massive construction plans to put up many real-estate when a loan they applied to the World Bank is released.”
Seifu said the Rwandan government interest for TACON is a testimony to TACON’s quality work and swift project execution.
Seifu added that TACON is drafting a new strategy to develop the company’s capacity to Level One Contractor status which will enable TACON to participate on mega projects.
