Head coach Yohannes announces a 44 players list

New Ethiopian National Team coach Yohannes Sahle called a 44 member squad for a preliminary screening for his 2017 African nation’s qualification campaign. Among the called players, only four players are from Saint George.
Despite having a serious time constraint to prepare his squad, Yohannes is determined to go through the tough hard to beat group (G) that brings together Algeria, Lesotho and Seychelles.
Out of the 44 players selected from 13 clubs, the highest number of players comes from Yohannes’ former side Dedebit while relegated Woldya Town is the only club with no representative.
The Blues have thrown in seven players in to the pool of players including the three defenders while Hawassa Town, Mekelakya and Wolayta Dicha each have put up  five players.
Defending champion Saint George has also put up four players including young defenders Zekarias Tugi and Saladin Bergecho. Ethiopia Bunna also brings in four players including the club’s one man strike force Biniam Assefa.
Sidama Bunna and Mugher Cement each have contributed three players while Arbaminch, Ethiopia NegedBank and Adama Town have put up two players each.
Electric and Dashen Birra each contributed  one player; striker Ramkelo Lok and midfielder Asrat Megersa respectively.
Head Coach Yohannes Sahle told reporters that he will form four teams  each with eleven players, organize at least six matches with each other followed by a final 23 player’s squad that will be ready for the qualification home match on 14 June 2015 against visitors Lesotho.
