Warka water tower project inaugurated

The Dorze community, in the Southern part of Ethiopia, has hosted the inauguration ceremony and the official presentation of the Warka Water Tower project.
The ceremony was presided by Giuseppe Mistretta, Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia, and by Alessandra Testoni, Humanitarian Program Coordinator of the Italian Cooperation Office (IDC) in Ethiopia which has financially supported the WW in this experimental phase.
A large group of women, men and children coming from the 12 villages of the Dorze community have participated with joyful local dances to such an “historic” day for their community.
The WW project has been previously tested in mountainous regions where conventional pipelines and water from wells are not available. These remote communities, often with limited financial means, struggle to find reliable supplies of clean water for the people, the animals and for agriculture.
