Argentine born Israeli singer and songwriter Monica Manaker held a concert at the Alliance Ethio-Française on Thursday, December 17, 2015. The singer played an intimate set with songs from her new album that is set to be officially released in 2016.
The singer, currently living in Addis Ababa, spent years writing and composing as well as performing in different countries such as Israel, Argentina, USA, Italy, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
When she finally decided to launch her music, her first album, זה מגיע״- “Here it comes” in Hebrew, had a real variation of styles and influences, based on world music. Monica Manaker has two of her songs chosen to be part of the Getty Images Music’s CD “Tribe of Noise – Volume 1”: Lluvia Chueca and Tiempos Modernos.
During her concert here in Addis Ababa at the Alliance Ethio-Française this week, Manaker performed alongside well-known musicians such as Girum Mezmur, Henock Temesgen, Kaethe Hostetter and Misale Legesse.
