President Mulatu says efforts underway to make Ethiopia among Africa’s top 10 tourist destination

Several investment works are underway to make Ethiopia one of the top 10 tourist attraction sites in Africa, President Mulatu Teshome said.
The president laid a corner stone for the construction of a multipurpose hall in Lalibela, where he also attended Ethiopian Charismas celebration.
Many investment activities are underway to make Ethiopia one of the 10 leading tourist destinations in Africa after four years, Mulatu said.
Works are being carried out to boost the role of tourism in the county’s economy and build its positive image, he said.
To this end, broad activities are required to lengthen visitors’ stay by offering them the necessary safety, facilities and hospitality, the president said.
Due attention should be given for the construction of standard hotels and roads, he said.
In addition to its contribution for tourism development, the investment activities are generating job opportunities for several people, the president added.
