The Ministry of Mines said three companies are expected to start gold production soon.
The British-owned KEFI Exploration Company, National Mining Corporation Plc. (MIDROC), and Ascom have completed feasibility studies and would begin production in the early years  of the Second GTP, Mines State Minister Dr. Alemu Sime said. The state minister further said the future will be bright for the mining sector since most companies have completed their feasibility studies and are ready to engage in production.
The government has been working hard to expand infrastructure to the areas the companies do mine digging to enable them easily supply their products to the market, Dr. Alemu said.
The government will provide all the necessary support to the private sector in order to make the nation benefit from the sector, the state minister said.
